... in 36 hours instead of the planned 21. We have many very funny stories to tell!
So, in the last post when I wrote, "We'll be leaving in an hour or two" we genuinly thought we were. Well, we didn't.
Daddy pulled up to the front of the hotel and parked the car so that we could load it. A bellhop brought out the ONE luggage cart of our stuff (it took us two to get in!). So we started to load everything up. Seth wanted to run into the street, so I stuck him in the car (he loves to play in there) so that I could help Daddy get the big suitcases on top of the car and into the cartop carrier. No more than 3 minutes later, I hear a bump and notice Seth had his belly on the dashboard (he was in the passenger's seat), his feet on the seat, and his head is touching the windshield. "Mommy! Seth just cracked the windshield with his head!" was what I said as I lifted him out and set him on the ground. He stood there for a moment while everyone asked him if he was OK. He just rubbed his head, muttered "ow" and walked away. !!!! He didn't even cry! I'll post the picture of the crack later, as I don't have a way to get the pictures off the camera and onto here at the moment.
After that little incident, Mommy suggested I take all the kids to the little playground down the hill. We were down there a long time, and finally started wondering where Mommy and Daddy were, because they had said that they were going to join us in a few minutes to take a little walk. After at least 20 minutes or more, I sent Emma to the top of the hill to see if they were still there. Yep, they were. Emma yelled over, "What's taking so long" to which the reply was, "We locked the keys in the car." Wonderful. Fortunately, one of the bellhops was a volenteer fireman and he had a car-breaking-into- kit in his car, which solved our problem.
We finally were able to take our little walk, and got a nice family picture, which I'll post later. By the time we got back, it was lunch time, so we decided to eat in the parking lot. Once lunch was over, we got all settled, turned on the car (to which Seth shouted, "Yay! Oops" because he then dropped his plate with half of his lunch still on it) and then prayed. During the prayer, Elsie dirtied her diaper. Go figure.
More to follow soon...

What a day! It sounds like one of those times when you have everything planned out, and then everything just goes wrong. That was like in Jamestown, when we were stuck at a speaking event for over twelve hours while daddy had to find a place to get our brakes fixed.... :-) Well, I'm glad that you finally reached your destination. :-)
Love,
Ruby
