Yet Another Day At The Clarke's

Truth is, we love being out at the Clarke's! Maybe that's why we've been out there the last 3 Saturdays in a row... there's always bundles of fun to be had.

This Saturday, however, it was finally warm enough to swim! All 8 of us older kids (aka not Seth, Cathrine, or Elsie) swam all afternoon! We did cannonballs right into huge schools of little tiny baby fish, and then when we got freaked by the major fishes in the water (seriously a foot long) we decided to fish instead of swim.

While we were in the shallow, fish-infested, seaweed-filled corner of the pond, Emma and I randomly started pulling major amounts of seaweed into the boat, then Jack joined in, then we forgot about fishing and just pulled over 80 lbs of seaweed into the boat. After detaching it from the bottom of the pond, we rowed it over to the raft so we could have a second "annual washing of the seaweed" although we did it 3 weeks ago on a much smaller scale. ;)

Me, Janelle, and Emma sitting atop the Mount O'seaweed.

While Jack and I washed out the boat (in the background-right) the girls washed the seaweed with fervor.

Emma's face is priceless. :D

After the boat was free of black mud and the seaweed clean, we tried to think of something to do with it... and came up with this:

A seaweed fashion show!!! What better use could we think of? (notice there's still some left over behind us on the raft!)
Now what do we do with it?

Wear it swimming, of course! Quite fun. Love the green blob floating above Janelle. :D

While we were doing that, Seth caught his first fish!

Then we needed to get all the black mud off of ourselves, so we jumped in again!

Then it was dinner time. :-P

Such the gentleman... not...

After dinner we played a quick game of what was pretty much a rule-less volleyball game/ monkey in the middle with a soccer ball. :D

Thanks again Clarke's!!!!
