Pine Wood Derby Races -Take Two

The Pinewood Derby Races were a LOT of fun. My highlight of the evening was getting to play with Rach's new SLR camera. :D I took about the first dozen of these (except for the ones with me in them). Rachel took the rest.

Seth and his 2nd place winning car before the race. :D

(That piece of ribbon isn't actually in his mouth. :P)

The impressive track that told the score down to the 1/1000th of a second- we actually had 3 or 4 ties that evening!

Apparently so does she. :P

Moi and my 'mazing car. :D Can you tell what it is?

I just can't keep a straight face around Emma and Rach!

I actually got two awards in addition to placing awards- "The Most Humorous" and "The Best Paint Job"
Smiling for the cameras are what I do best...

Well, I must say Rachel, your SLR has an advantage over my SD 990 IS in some respects. The trouble with point-and-shoots is that they do not possess a broad enough spectrum of aperture settings to aid in creating the focused effect that you have in all your photos. I simply can't get quite as much a background blur as you can while still retaining the clear focused front image. But, a bigger lens does make a difference.

Love the picture of Emma holding the penguin close by.

Don't love the picture of the perplexed father.

Love the Moi and Mazing car

Certainly do not love the glorified cheeto.

And love the group shot of the three young ladies.

Best picture of all? The one of Emma receiving the "Best animal theme."
FINALLY!

Excellent post. Thanks for loading it on.
