1. Happy new year!!😄
2. We are finally all together in one house in Otter Creek on Winfrey Drive! (more on that later😉)
3. Olivia and Calvin got COVID over Christmas so we had a delayed Christmas again.
4. We have started up school again! it's been so fun learning about God's amazing world, how he's working in it, and how we can be praying for it.
5. Heritage has had some germs going through the church. Some were COVID, others are unknown. Because of that we have been staying home. this past week was our eighth week of being careful. The church was being cautious for a couple weeks but things are getting back to normal now. We decided to wait one more week before we go back to church. (Lord willing this WILL be the last week.)
6. (I just asked Daddy if he could think of anything else significant that happened between now and last November and his answer was "Seth took a shower"😂)
7. for Christmas Josiah got a drone but then the following week or so he lost it. They searched tirelessly for it.
8. They found Josiah's drone!!
9. Josiah and daddy had their birthdays! Daddy is now 54 and Josiah is 11!!
I think that's all the big things that have marked the last few months. There are a lot of things that I'm missing but I can't think of them right now.😅
We got to spend new years and Christmas with Olivia, Calvin & Rhett! They arrived on new years eve. We celebrated new years with them, then Christmas eve the following day. and then Christmas on Saturday. They left Sunday afternoon. It was so much fun to see them again. (Especially with it being their first time at our new house.)
Getting out of the little house and into our new house was a very hard week.
I was up at the camper helping up there for the day but I'm sure it was even more hectic down at the little house. When the evening came we were getting very very close it felt like, but we didn't get into the car until 12:00 ish. Then we drove to the hotel for the night and slept. The next morning Willa, Daddy, and I had doctor appointments and Mommy came with us. While we were out all day Emma and the boys got to hang back at the hotel and I'm pretty sure Emma slept from 12:45 am-2:30 pm. (she was exhausted and had good reason to be.) After we all got back to the hotel we started taking showers and changing. Then when everyone was finished we hopped in our new car and drove to Otter Creek at around 12:00 again. We were all thrilled to be back together. (poor Emma had to sleep on the floor for the first day or two😬) We are all still recovering and detoxing but life is good, God is greater and his blessings are never ending towards us.
I have a list of funny conversations/texts etc.
1. In the midst of the last push to get out of the little house Josiah was taking trash bags to the garage that Mommy was handing him. One of the trash bags that mommy put on the porch (not intending for it to get thrown away) was Josiah's birthday gift from Da and Popo. Josiah (thinking it was trash) picked it up and took it to the garage. As Josiah was ferrying things, Daddy, Seth, Willa and I (camper people) were sitting in the car waiting. When Josiah slung the trash bag over his shoulder it had written on it "Josiah's B-day gift" Willa was the one who noticed it and saved Josiah from throwing away his own birthday gift.😂(sorry, that was kind of a long story😬)
2. Daddy-"Tina, I'm not used to smiling this much. My cheeks hurt." *Everyone else in the house-"Awwwwwwwwww!"
3. Willa-"Daddy, what has your 54th year taught you?" Daddy-"How thankful I am for my wife. I love her more and more everyday. I am especially grateful for how she puts up with me everyday." Elsia-"We all have to do that."
4. Daddy-Steve (the builder) doesn't like working with the glass people." Willa-"Are they fragile?"
5. Daddy-"The most exhausting part of the day was carrying the generator down the hill by hand." Seth-"We thought it was a goof idea until we did it."
6. *Elsia pulls her hair off from her hair brush* "Aren't you glad you don't have to do this?" Seth-"guys have there own issues." Elsia-"yeah, you're just too muscular." Seth-" yup, it's a real issue."
7. Daddy-"Tina, be vigilant out there." Mommy-"Yup, I have my nasal spray with me." Willa-"Yeah, it's a doggy dog world out there." Emma-"Just so you know Elsia, it's dog eat dog world. I used to get those confused too." Willa-" Wait, it is? I thought it was doggy dog world." Emma-"you didn't know that?" Willa-"No!"
8. *Mommy and Elsia are sitting in the car in silence* Mommy-Oeo" (to the tune of Oreos form Wreck It Ralph) Elsia looks up and sees the license plate in front of the car that says 56OEO7 (it didn't actually have those numbers. just the letters)
9. *Elsia points to Emma, points to herself, makes talking signal with hands* Emma-"You and me need to talk?" Elsia-"No, we need to dress up like crabs" *makes crab claw motion with hands* Emma-"Oh! That would make me so happy!" (later for Christmas I got her a crab headband for her to wear)
10. *Seth cutting cookies out* Willa-"Oh! It's a sweater! And what is that supposed to be? Are they Christmas pants?" Seth-"It's a sled."
11. *Elsia breaks cup in sink by accident.* *Seth drops trash can over in pantry by accident.* Seth later-"This trash can smells like ham." Elsia-"You smell like ham! You must think I'm the queen of comebacks." *Seth, walks off to the garage explaining that he called the trash ham and then I called him ham.* *Seth walks back in* Elsia-"ham" *Elsia breaks into laughter* Seth-"Why do you think you're so funny?" You're like, 'you smell like ham! You know what else smells like ham? ham.'"
12. Emma-"Can I feel how the puddings feeling?" (as I stir pudding in a pan to get it thicker) Elsia-"You wanna feel the vibe?" Emma-"yeah, I wanna know how the puddings doing. How ya doin puddin? I'm gonna call you pudding prom now on Elsia. I'm just gonna be like, 'how ya doin puddin?'"
13. *Mommy, Daddy, Seth, Josiah and Elsia watching a scene from the hobbit where they are in the cursed woods wondering what time it is, what direction to head in, what day it is, stumbling over with dizziness* Daddy-"that was us last Thursday."
Ok, that was all of them, and, I'm sure that like only half of these are funny. The other half were just us being slap happy in the moment. Also, it's really hard to convey a moment with as much emotion as in real life. (It's also weird writing myself in the third person😜)
Today is Aunt Jill's Birthday so we recorded one video for her yesterday and then another birthday video today. (I'll try and find it so I can share it)

For Josiah's Birthday he wanted us to have a "trick shots" contest. Daddy and I won (Even though Emma and Willa should have won for their creativity😜) The teams were Emma and Willa, Me and Daddy, Mommy and Josiah. Seth was the judge.

Our neighborhood started doing something called "being elfed!" where you would sercretly give a gift and then the person you gave the gift too would do the same.
