Frog Dissection

On Monday our family headed over to the SMART Center with some other homeschoolers. Emma (by choice) and me (by force) dissected frogs-- an experience I won't forget, and yet don't regret. If we had had to kill the frog, and then take it apart, I probably would have been more of a mess than the poor thing. I don't mind the dead animal part, just the idea of cutting something's skin, mussels, intestines, etc. Anyways... This is my face when I've just started to touch it-- I avoided it for a long time, but by the end was digging, cutting, and smashing its guts out. I even plucked out the frog's eyes, and got one as a souvenir.



Emma giving Billy a try. She dug in before me, but then was thankful to have two boys with her that would to the "rather disgusting things." Those I chopped it up with were the only other two teenage girls in the class-- all of us very prissy, and we especially freaked out when I accidentally flung frog guts on us. We learned the hard way that when you lean in close and somebody else is hacking away at it, you should keep your mouth closed. :-) That's probably enough information for some of you...
