Flexiblity For The Fair

Crazy summer days! We got home from Tennessee at 3 am on the Tuesday, the 21st of July. Wednesday we drove the 45 minutes to VBS at church. Thursday we did the same thing, although Elsie had a fever so I stayed home with her and Seth. Friday started the absolute insanely non-stop weekend. In the evening, all of us but Elsie (still sick) and Mommy went to the Nolan's for dinner. And then an ice cream social at church. Willa stayed with the Nolans and the rest of us got home around 10-ish. Being the ca-razy girl I am, I sewed an apron in a half-hour that night as well.
Saturday morning had Daddy and I up at 7 and driving the 45 minutes back to church to help with the Presbytery meeting. Mommy was originally in charge of the food for the meeting, but we decided last minute to switch the command to me. :D It was a lot of fun and great experience feeding 50+ men breakfast and lunch!
After we got home around 1:30 that afternoon, Mommy found out that the Cumberland Fair was ending that day. She had been planning all year on going, but thought it was in August. Needless to say, we made the decision in about 20 minutes and were starting on the 2.5 hour drive 40 minutes later.
We arrived at the fair around 6 o'clock. This is the only event from the entire weekend we actually got pictures of!

See this? Daddy, Emma, Willa, and I rode it! It was a BLAST, although Willa was nearly falling out and Emma nearly got sick! :D *I* loved it. :D

Now THIS was funny. :D Willa was begging somebody to go on this spinney ride with her. We had just gotten off a crazy ride and didn't want to go on another one. PapPap was great and even though it was the only thing he did all evening, he went on it with her. ;D They had a blast. :)



As we were leaving Seth won a giant sword! :D

We got home to Mema's house around 11 pm and were up and leaving again at 8 am Sunday in order to get back to our church in time! After the service on Sunday, we stayed at church for a lunch we had planned the day before to eat up the leftovers from the Presbytery meeting. We then (this just goes on and on! :D) drove straight from church to a birthday party a half-hour on the other side of our house making it a 1 hour 30 (cause we got lost) minute drive from church. :D Needless to say when we finally got home about 6 pm Sunday evening we were exhausted.

So there's one weekend I failed to blog about sooner. :D We have had more outings and lots of news, so stay tuned!
