Fog

I am painfully aware of the severe lack of posts on this here blog. Life is amazing, and busy, and beautiful. God is so good and we don't deserve to enjoy a lick of this. And yet, through saving grace and love, we enjoy every second to its fullest potential. Or at least sometimes it seems as if the joy He has given is overwhelming and, at that very moment, life could not be better. I praise God for His mercies!

This evening, for example, as I was walking out to join others at the chicken tractor, a simple, beautiful fog began to descend upon our little echoing valley just as the moon was making its appearance and the sun had cast pink rays through the sky. Looking towards the hill behind our house from the bottom of the yard was amazing. After we situated the chickens for the night (they've been escaping, the little rascals!), I treaded back through the yard in my barefeet to the house, grabbed my rainboots and the camera and took off running. I took some pictures, but they just don't do it justice. What I would have given for an SLR.

Under that fog is our freshly plowed garden.

The longer I was out there, the thicker and deeper and wider the fog became. By the end of my little trip I could hardly see the house from the bottom of the driveway, and what was behind the fence in this picture was creeping into the trees on the other side of the fence.

I wanted to walk farther and farther, exploring the fog, but dinner dishes from a scrumptious shrimp dish Mommy made were waiting for me.

I've fallen in love with Tennessee.

The pictures are beautiful, Olivia. I feel like I was there with you. You described it wonderfully. I do however, crack up everytime I look at the picture of the group picture you have chosen for the blog right now. Seth is hilarious and Elsie looks terrified. Love to all,
Mema
