Fence Fencing Fence Fencer

This project is quite a project. But man is it a fun one. :)You know life is good when you're doubled over in laughter as you get blisters on your hands. :) Here are the few pictures we've gotten... either I forget to take my camera or when I do, somebody hides it. *perturbed look*

We've put in several afternoons and a couple full days of hole digging, post setting, post cutting, H-brace making, and dirt hauling the last two or three weeks. Last week Daniel, Nathaniel, and Caroline joined us for a quick dinner after working one afternoon/evening.

When Daniel and Nathaniel saw the camera coming out, they ran. :P

One night this week, I was zonked out on the couch. Mommy woke me up, "Oliiiiiiviaaaaa... Daniel's here and they're out in the garage looking for the angle grinder." 10 minutes later I had been elected to paint marks every 12" on rebar with white nail polish so Daniel could cut them.

(I'm a huge fan of this picture)
When we ran out of rebar, I was sent to the neighbor's to get another piece... except that this length of rebar was twenty feet long and our truck bed is only eight feet long. :} To make a long story short, Elsie and I used three shovels, a bungee cord, a denim shirt, and an open window to get the rebar home over the hill and through the woods. :P
You can see the white nail polish (or, as Elsie calls it, "Paintnolish") and the awesome hairy rebar the grinder makes. :)

We have great fun driving our beaten up truck up to the field...and back down... and up... and down... getting tools, cookies, generators, siblings, you name it! Usually it is only two, three, or four of us working at one time, but one day this week we had 6 of us... including Josiah. :) We're glad we have bench seats.

Daniel, me, and Nathaniel sat in the front seat and fought over radio control. :) Daniel turns to opera, I go for country, and Nathaniel is hooked on rap. You can see our conundrum.

Emma is amazing. Whenever she comes up to work, she has the baby on her back. Actually, now that I think about it, Jo tags along on nearly all of Emma's outdoor tasks. She works just as hard as I do, yet she is carrying an extra twenty pounds. *salutes a woman of greatness*

Riding on the tractor is also a treat. :) I didn't know a tractor front-loader bucket could be so versatile- not only is it extra passenger room, but it can knock down trees and push all the extra limbs out of the way. Daniel was brave to put his life in my hands for a little while this week as I drove the tractor with him standing in the fully raised bucket with a chainsaw cutting off tree limbs along the fence line. :P I only almost killed him once. ;)
This is Willa's, "I'm going to die but wow is this fun and please remind me not to ride with him again" face. :)

We're getting closer to being done! I'm excited! Thanks for the good times, Daniel + friends. :)
