4 inches of snow. Just enough to go sledding.
The Lovetts invited us over. So we bundled up. And slid our way over the creek and through the woods and down the road.
The little ones had a blast. There was a perfect hill for them.
They were out there for over 2 hours having a blast with friends.
Once it was time to go, we popped back in the truck and slipped and slid our way home to drop off the cold children, and then drove back out to the Bradshaws. Where they had a hayfield. It was a blast to be pulled behind a 4-wheeler on a truck hood.
Redneck, we know.
Emma tried an alternative method of a sled... but nothing beats the truck hood.
Those of us who were still out there after 6 hours had a very long, very fun, very involved guys vs girls snowball fight. And then retired to the Bradshaws warm home for hot cocoa and cookies. "Fun" would be an understatement. :)
I wish I had gotten more pictures, but it was cold and wet and I didn't want to hurt my lovely camera. :)
Camille has a couple more pictures on her blog.
And Laura has pictures that have us in them on her blog. I'm the one in the atrocious yellow coat and ridiculous pink hat. ;) Third picture down is Willa (in pink) on the hood with Camille. In the fourth picture Emma's behind me with her mouth open in laughter. :D
You can tell it was a truly a lot of fun when half of us Coble bloggers post an event the day after it happened. That is rare. :D

Looks like a blast.
Who won the snowball fight? Guys or girls?
What is "Coble"? I looked it up a found that a coble is a small fishing boat used off of northeastern England! Don't think that's what you meant! :-)
It *was* a blast. :D
Who won? A better question would be who came out with the most bruises. :D
Seriously though, the guys totally beat us. We threw like girls, as is expected.
"Coble" is to Centerville as Elm Grove is to Wheeling, if that helps. Its too small to be called a town- one website calls it "a community or populated place". So, its just a more specific term for our area. :)
Yeah, we don't exactly live in a small fishing boat used off of northeastern England. ;)
We heard there was snow headed your way?
Yeah, I somehow expected that the guys were the victors. ;-) But, you know, it's best that way in the end. It would not be very therapeutic for the fellows' morale if they'd been vanquished by a troop of girls! :-)
I see, a regional label.
Indeed, we were the happy recipients of a few inches of snow - less than I'd anticipated. Over the weekend we are expecting more. Which might be a problem because we are supposed to be going to a special church service at an Adventist conference in Pittsburgh. Hope the snow does not prevent us from attending. ... I've wanted to go out a shoot a few snowy scenes but have had no time. I have not touched my camera since New Years Eve!
