Stay with me here as I update the last 2 weeks! Ruby Hopkins came to visit us for 9 days the end of June and beginning of July. We love her! She's helpful and kind and Seth and Elsie begged to have her give them a bath!

Saturday the 27th, Daddy woke us up before noon and asked for some help with weeding. It turned into a bigger project than we had originally planned!
As we were digging up whole bushes (see above picture) and sorting through mounds of dirt for bulbs, I was dreaming up what to do in that area. I told Daddy of my idea to pave it with bricks and he added the idea of stones and it was settled! We needed to go to the creek for rocks.
After hauling 40+ bricks and 10+ large (aka over 30lbs) rocks up a steep hill and into the car, Ruby and I got into a mud fight....

And had to clean up quickly to go to a friend's graduation party. :D

Good times. :D

We knew Ruby had become one of the family when one morning she couldn't find her flip-flops... well, Daddy had put them where he puts any shoes that get in the way-- high up.

Ruby and I layed out all the bricks, but then Daddy said they needed to slant towards the street, so he (and Seth) re-layed them all for us! Thanks Daddy!
Ruby and I (and sometimes Jordan and Emma) spent the next couple days hauling by hand HEAVY rocks from the creek to our house... about 1/4 mile or more. Fun fun!
Finished pictures to come soon.
