Daddy's Day

Okay, so about a month ago my dear Father had a rather... interneting... day. I'm going to tell the story as I understand it (forgive me if this account is not 100% true) in conversation format. So here goes. :-D

Daddy: "Tina I need to do a video conference today, but our internet would be very inconvenient for it. Should I go to Chris's office?"
Mommy: *flips light switch in basement up* "We'll that would be nice because I need to run some errands in town... And the power's out." (Just FYI this was the second time since we arrived in December that the power had gone out for around an hour. We were told that the power rarely goes out around here, and it's happened 5 times in the last month and a half.)
Daddy: "Okay I guess I'll call Chris." *calls Chris*

Chris: "Hello? Yeah that would be fine. No, I'm not there right now, but I think I could get there by nine. All right, see ya later."

Mommy: "All right girls, we'll be back in an hour or two. Be good!" *goes and get in car* *car drives away*
Willa: *flips a light switch listlessly* "Hey! The power's back on!"


Daddy: "Tina, could you go a little faster, I need to be in the meeting by nine."
*car arrives at office building* *clock somewhere in an old deserted house chimes nine* (Creative License)
Daddy: *jumps out of car* *knocks on door 38* *waits* *waits* *9:02* *waits* *9:05* *knocks on door 38 1/2* *Chris opens door* "Hello, Chris!" *smiles*

Daddy: *twiddles his thumbs and looks at his cellphone* "When are they going to start this???" *waits for 10 more minutes* "Hmmm... maybe I should use the restroom before this starts." *gets up*
*comes back* "What? Two missed calls?"

Boss: "We'll meet back in twenty minutes okay?"
Daddy: *thinking to himself* "That's just long enough to get back home."
Mommy: *drives up to get Daddy* "Do you mind me making my last few stops?"
Daddy: "What are they?"
Mommy: "The bank and two others."
Daddy: *looks at his beautiful wife* *sighs* "Okay, but let's make them quick."

*driving back home*
Daddy: "Hmm... I'm gonna have to try to start the meeting again from the car. They're ready to begin." *starts on his laptop* 1 minute later: *internet goes out* *drive more* *internet is back* 2 minutes later: *internet goes out* *drive ahead* *it's back!*
30 seconds later: *internet goes out* *drive froward* *comes back on*
5 minutes later: *out* *go* *on*
1 minute later: *no signal* *speed up* *up again!*
3 minutes later: *gone* *turn off the main road* *a signal* "Hallelujah!"
Daddy: *to co-workers*"Can y'all wait five minutes while I dash home? Thanks. Tina, '...put the pedal to the metal...' and 'take me home [on these] country roads.'" (Ok, total creative license here. NOT something Daddy would do. Just something I would. :-)

*arrives home, rushes inside* *sets up laptop* *pants*
Boss: "Bruce, you there?"
*pants*
"Bruce?"
"Just-a-*pant pant* second." *faints* (CL)

:-D There's my story, and I hope 't was satisfactory grandest Dude! So sorry it's long delayed! I had no comical inspiration until last night. :-)
