Josiah's Baptism

Nearly 2 weeks ago, we had a packed weekend. Friday, Mommy, Willa, and me went to a homeschool conference in Nashville. Saturday, Mommy took Emma with her and Willa stayed to watch the kids and I stayed home to cook. And cook I did. You see, we were preparing a feast for roughly 80 people to celebrate Josiah's baptism and our church membership. Thankfully Mommy and Emma got home around 3 pm to help me chop 6 lbs of cherry tomatoes...Even Camille joined the fun around 9pm when we were *still* chopping!
Having our meeting place be so close was a huge blessing- we ran food over to the fridges many, many times. This was the last bit Sunday morning.

The following pictures are courtesy of Mr. Draper.

Our new church body!

Pastor Lovett baptised him.

He was so good about it.

And made the cutest faces.

Our church always eats lunch together after the service- crock-pot-luck-style- but today we wanted to have a "feast!"
Menu:
Ham
Pesto pasta
Rolls+honey butter
Salad
Veggie salad
Crockpot pizza
Strawberry shortcake
Brownies

And guess what! No one got food poisoning. :D

Apparently some people enjoyed the food.

On the right are honey butter balls- sooo good. :D

Forgive the awful lighting. We love hanging out late into the evening every week. We don't stay as late as some folks, though. :) This scene is typical though: Lots of talking, ping ponging, snacking, and joking.

(An ingenious idea: Chalkboard cups!)

Amazing Lattes provided by Kaliste and Tricia Ann.

Around 10:30 we realized Daddy had a slight fever... we left around 11... by 12 Daddy had a *high* fever and was practically delirious. He was in a lot of pain. :( Thankfully his fever broke at 1 am and we all got a good night sleep- a strange end to our packed weekend. Daddy had/has pneumonia, for your fyi.

Quote of the day:
Elsie: Olivia, shut the door!
Elsie: *turns off light*
Emma: Elsie, stick out your tongue. (she was brushing her teeth ;)
Elsie: *wispers* who arrreyou?

I'm just curious about something. I noticed that many of the girls in the church service and at the "feast" all had something on their heads. Is that coincidence,or a belief in the Reformed Presbyterian Church?

By the way, I also wanted to say I liked the post.

Just wondering about your beliefs on infant baptism. Is it more of a "confirmation" or do you believe it actually saves them?
I found yall's blog maybe a year ago and always check up.
Keep up the great work! (though I would like to know your thoughts on infant baptism ;)

Your sister in Christ,
Lillian

Lillian,
I love to know who's reading our blog! :D We baptize infants because they are in the Covenant, not because it saves them. Our pastor has a great article on it here:

Let me know if that answers your question!
In Him,
Olivia
