Europe Trip Pictures: #6 Noah's Ark

Saturday morning we explored the place we were staying and had a leisurely lunch.

I forgot to take a picture of my lunch.... it was another prepackaged sandwich!

Then Aunt Jill joined us to drive the 2.5 hours to see Noah's Ark (I think everyone in the world has gotten that e-mail).

We found Grand Dude sleeping while waiting for us... :-D

Drive, drive, drive through the Netherland countryside!

Not sure I'd want to live on that street!

The views were so quaint!

Love the roof. :-)

Okay, so we drove up to the town where Noah's Ark was supposed to be, figuring we'd see signs or be ask the locals were exactly it was. Well, we get into town, drive around, consult Gabby, and ask a dozen locals, and we still couldn't find it! Nobody knew where it was. :-} Turns out it actually sails, and had just floated down the coast to very close to where we were staying--but hadn't opened up yet. We later saw a sign for it, and it wouldn't open for another 2 days. :-( So we were very disappointed, but got a lovely tour of the countryside! Gabby also gave us a "back road" tour if you will, although she took us on bike paths, not roads!!! We were quite exasperated with her! It was rather funny when we looked over at another car that was stopped on the bike path and, lo and behold, there was a confused looking woman with a GPS on her dashboard! :-D

It was a fun day, even if we didn't see Noah's Ark.
